Cultivate Yourself

Cultivating oneself is a deliberate practice across many dimensions. You shape body, breath, senses, mind, and intellect so they support inner growth.

Regulate the Body

Feed nourishing food to your body. Practise hatha yoga to keep posture, strength, and steadiness in order.

Regulate the Breath

Practise conscious and deep breathing. Practise pranayama to calm and prepare the system for steadier attention.

Regulate the Senses

Moderate your pleasures. Do not over-indulge. Keep contact with objects measured and intentional.

Regulate the Mind

Learn to be affected less and less by external factors. Handle pleasure and pain wisely. Learn to focus your mind on one thing for longer periods. Learn to be attentive.

Regulate the Intellect

Think through things thoroughly. Do not jump to conclusions. Learn to think logically so judgment guides action.

Integrate the Dimensions

Cultivation works best when these dimensions support one another. Clear perception, measured speech and action, a regulated body and breath, steady senses, a trained mind, and a discerning intellect together form a simple, sustainable path of self-development.
